Database Software

Hi All,

I installed Oracle 11gR2 grid and RAC DB in our server (Linux 64 bit).
The RAC DB works fine except the scan setup.

Before the oracle grid installation, My Network admin setup the SCAN name in DNS to resolve to 3 IPS.

When I do "ping <scan_name>", then it resolves to one of the 3 IPs in round-robin fashion.
But, it sends a proper response back only for 1 IP. For other 2 IPs, it resolves to the
correct IP, but it says "Destination Host Unreachable".
Here is the example : (See, I get proper response only for 10.1.96.76)

Now, after the RAC DB installation, I see my scan listener is running only on Node-1
only with IP 10.1.96.76. And scan listener is not running on node-2.

As per my network administrator, this DNS is set up with statis IPs and this behavior
is normal with a statis DNS setup.
If I want the proper response from all the 3 IPs, then I would have to go for Dynamic
IP setup (Which may not be possible in my organization).

Any help please? How to make the other 2 IPs (and the scan listener on node 2)to work?
And Do I need dynamic DNS setup.
