11gR2 Grid Infrastructure cannout launch installer OEL 5.5

Hi,
I am trying to install Grid Infrastructure 11g R2 in my OEL 5.5 inside Oracle VM (with Virtual Guest Additions).
I have setup all the ASM Disks which is verified using oracleasm listdisks.

I login as root. then I open a terminal

$ su - oracle
$ entering password here....
$ cd Desktop/grid/
$ ./runInstaller

then.... I got this error
Could not execute auto check for display colors using command /usr/openwin/bin/xdpyinfo. Check if the DISPLAY variable is set.

if I echo $DISPLAY
it show only {noformat} :0.0 {noformat}

any help is appreciated
