I'mr planning to migrate/upgrade 11g to 19c and planning to use dataguard to reduce the downtime required.
Basically, just setup a 11g physical standby on the new server.. and than activate as primary, upgrade to 19c and plug in as pdb to the 19c cdb on actual day.
The issue now is that the new 19c server OS version is rhel 8.x and i understand that 11g is not supported on rhel 8.x.
If just for the purpose of one time migration (dataguard), think we can do it or any risk u see? It's a waste that we are not able to use dataguard for such migration due to 11g OS support.
