11G installation

I am trying to install 11G R2 on my laptop ...Windows 7 Premium plenty of RAM etc.... When I run the installer I get to the prerequisites check (which runs) and then the installer just disappears.

I am trying install the Personal edition for use to connect to a school oracle server...will this work or do i need to use something else?
