Hello everyone
We have an application (DCLink) from DSI that connects to our 11g R2 database using Oracle Data Provider for .Net
The application servers are running on Windows 2012 R2
The database version is 11.2.0.4 and the oracle client installed on the application server is 11.2.0.1
We are in the process of migrating our database to 19c
We wanted to ask that when we upgrade the database to 19c, do we need to upgrade the oracle client installed on the application servers as well?
Are the clients forward compatible with the newer release of the database?
Can we have 11.2.0.1 client work seamlesly with the 19c Database?
Do you see any issues if we do not upgrade our clients running 11.2.0.1 to 19c?
Any guidance and help would be greatly appreciated
