Performance tuning related parameters in oracle 10g

Hi,

Can you please specify the important parameters in oracle 11g that are used to improve performance of long running queries.

I am having 60 millions of records in a table and it all needs to be updated on weekly basis. Updating 60 millions of records is taking more than a day.It has some complex business logic, so altering the query is not the first option. Is there anything we can do at database level? Increasing SGA, altering parameters like that?

Current SGA is 1.25 GB. Server has only 8 Gb of RAM with 5-6 database running.
