THis is the glib update and relink issue
I applied the 8.1.7.4.0 patch
and applied the OEM 2.2 latest patch
REAPPLY the glibc patch BUG:1467074 and relink
(don't do bug 2062423 patch for JRE it is a waste of time only the dbassist runs netca and netasst and emca still hang)
Download the blackdown jre118v3 from blackdown.org (see the UK seems to missing from NA. /pub/linux/
There is a note on metalink about this but it has been noted for 9i not 8.1.7
This will get the netca and netasst working.
Then you need to edit emca in the ORACLE_HOME/bin directory and change the PATH statement at the end of the file. It is hardcoded to point at oracle's defunct jre.
SO far this is working. I have not fully tested the OEM functionality yet. I will reply to this post with the results. BTW - Oracle does support this configuration. So you can get help. If you have a support contract.
We hope to use this configuration on two pizza boxes for OEM management server and as redundant names servers with region db and OEM repository.
