employees by department??

731406Oct 31 2009
Hello all.. I have been trying a lot on this problem and finally decided to take guidanc from all of u..

I need to update my intern with this and I am having a lil. problem...All I need to do is a script with employees list by department.. I saw some examples in the oracle website. It asked to me to use a ref cursor, but work on packages.. I have to do this with a script not a SQL statement..

The report must be sorted by the department_id and the employees of
-- each department must be sorted by their last name.
-- the total number of employees of the department is displayed behind the department name
-- followed by the city and state_province of the department.
-- no duplicates with department manager name in the employee list
-- do not include departments that have no manager in the report.??

Can anyone help me solve this..??

A sample output is kind of

Administration (1), Seattle, Washington
Manager: Jennifer Whalen
-----------------------------------------
(no other employees)

Marketing (2), Toronto, Ontario
Manager: Michael Hartstein
-----------------------------------------
Pat Fay

-----> The same example I was able to find at oracle homepage but it is kind of different and difficult to understand..Anybody with clear clarity for me..

Thanks in advance
