What is the effect of "use template defaults" option?

Hi, I am using Oracle APEX 21.2.5. I've created a classic report region. There is an attribute named "use template defaults" that you can check/uncheck when clicking the button of "Template Option Attribute. What is meant by template defaults? And what is the effect of that checkbox?
