Difference between CDB and CDB$ROOT and PDB$SEED

N_RajMar 28 2019 — edited Mar 28 2019

Hi All,

I am learning Oracle cloud concepts. I have doubt about it.

1,What is the difference between CDB ( CON_ID=0 ) and CDB$ROOT ( CON_ID =1 ) and PDB$SEED? PDB$SEED is template to create another PDB.

2, All PDB information is available in both CDB and CDB$ROOT.?  Is there any classification between CDB & CDB$ROOT?

3,Why oracle having CDB and CDB$ROOT?  Both are container.Hence, one is enough?

4,Can we use CDB$ROOT to create another container?

5,By default How many container available when create CDB? Both CDB$ROOT & PDB$SEED Must in CDB?

Any Suggestions,

Thanks & Regards,
