SOA suite installation versus Oracle BPEL process manager installation

481392Oct 22 2008 — edited Oct 23 2008
Hi All

I had a question on the installation of Oracle BPEL.

Oracle BPEL process manager 10.1.3.1 has been installed in our production enviroment. It has been patched to version 10.1.3.3
Oracle SOA suite has been installed in the development environment and it has been patched to 10.1.3.3. We are using only BPEL in the dev enviroment.

We wanted to have the same setup for production and devlopment machines but the installation done by the admin team is different ; in one environment SOA suite is installed but on the production we have only BPEL process manager. The admin team says tht different type of installations does not matter as we have the same version 10.1.3.3....

just wanted to confirm if there is any difference in the BPEL server being installed from the SOA suite installer and from the Oracle BPEL process manager?? Is there any risk that we may hit a bug/issue in production that is not detected in development due to the fact that we had different type of installation in these enviroments.

Please suggest if it is acceptable to have different type of installations or we should have the same one in both enviroments..

Thanks
