Unable to complete Instance configuration! 2/5 error while installing oracl

Hi all,

I am trying to install oracle 11i on Redhat linux 4 - WS. at step 2 following error is appearing and i am struck there .

on screen rapidwiz status : step 2 of 5

command /u01/proddb/9.2.0/temp/PROD_mydomain/adrundb.sh

Please check "dbInstancecfg.log" for more details about the error.

"dbInstancecfg.log" is located under $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/log/<SID>_<hostname>

iam installin in /u01 but iam unable to locate folder mentioned by you . could you please help

It should be under /u01/proddb/9.2.0/appsutil/log/<SID>_<hostname>

Is this all what you have in the log file? All entries above seem to be ok, and I cannot find any errors.

yes - this much only in log file.

Do i need to install any patches to install 11i on redhat ws 4 ?

could you please provide step by step install of 11i on redhat linux ws -4 ?

Yes, you need to apply some OS packages and set kernel properly before you start the installation. For more details, please check the link below.

thanks for links .

Now i will install fresh copy of linux ws 4 and apps. i will post here steps i followed so that any of you can tell what i am doing wrong.

one more q - is redhat enterprise linux - ws 4 supported ? i saw only as/es ?

while doing pre install checks following error occuring, can any of you help me out ?

These utilities need to be accessible on your system in order to do administrative tasks.

Command line is not valid

Reinstall MKS Toolkit in a directory having less then 8 characters, OR add in the PATH variable the full location of the MKS Toolkit (i.e. PATH=...;C:\MKSToolkit\mksnt)

Note: Install MKS in a directory that does not contain spaces in its name (i.e. C:\MKS), the same thing for VC++ and Gnumake. Do not install those utilities in the "Program Files" directory.

AND if i run that script manually it si working fine :

Usually this error appears on Windows platform, sorry for this inconvenience

What does "$ echo $PATH" return? Please verify that (make, cc, ld and ar) executables are available in the PATH.

Are you running RapidWiz as root?
