Been trying to download the following:
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0)
Enterprise/Standard Edition for Solaris Operating System (SPARC) (64-bit)
for the last two days and everytime it bombs out after downloading a couple of megabytes. Shame the ftp.oracle.com site doesn't have the software really.

I have downloaded 10.2.0.1 several time with different machines. After the download, the file is larger than it should be. The cksum report the wrong number. When I run gunzip against this file, it's not a valid gzip file.

Oracle download sites (east, west, uk) appear to be broken. Various errors occur :
- 404 Error : the page you requested was not found
- 500 Server Error
- 0 bytes file download

Same here. Who can we call at Oracle to report the issue?
I need to download the latest Instant Client (basic+sqlplus+odbc). Anybody out there knows of a mirror or could upload it some place where I can download it from?
Thanks.

Appears to have been broken at least 12 hours - I first tried around 22:00 US Central time last night and again just now at 10:00 US Central. Thanks for confirming it wasn't just me ;-} The errors toggled randomly between 404's (which actually displayed an Oracle page saying the problem would be reported) and 500's (generic IE page). Here's the link I was trying to download from: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/download.html. I'll check back for any feedback. Kevin

Its still down? Been trying for the last 2 days... Are you telling me oracle can't just set up a mirror and serve this stuff statically and redirect users? This is ridiculous.

This is really unbelievable, the site is down. Random errors, 0 byte downloads, 10x ask for sign on and then give 404 error. Its like all Oracle ****: Total ****!
I need a 10g database for testing purpose, but it cost me hours to get one (still not found). I had 10g on a Virtual w2k server, but it crashed (Oracle, not the server). Now need 10g on Linux, but are unable to download. My advice to any reader: Don't use this ****, download a decent database (like MS SQL). Amateurs!
If anybody knows sources other than the Oracle servers (which seems to go down on and on), post it!

just read this "Important Note: As of 2:30pm PT Sept. 18, OTN software downloads are currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to restore them as quickly as we can. " at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/index.html
So I guess we have to be patient for a while

If the data service on our site stayed down for days, I'd be looking for a new job.
I guess I could always apply for a job at Oracle

I've been trying to download 10g Enterprise Edition for 2 days, using east, west and uk download sites. I'm extremely irritated (and behind schedule) that they could have an outage for this long. It makes Oracle look more than a little incompetent if they can't put up a couple of mirrors to download binaries.
