Hello,

I am trying to create new script for creating a new table and loading data in it.
I go to SQL --> SQL SCript --> Create. Script Editor page comes up.But editor area where the SQL script is to be entered is uneditable (light grey in color not white). I mean I cannot type any things.

What's happening? What should I do?
Please help.
Thanks,
Trips

Trips,

did you try to type in this textarea? It is always light grey. I also created a new user without any privileges and was still able to login and type in that textarea. (Connecting from localhost)

Hi Marc,

I cannot type anything in textarea. The cursor is not navigating there.
This is happening for all users I have created including 'hr'.

Thanks,
Trips

Hi,
Somehow the problem I am facing is happening with Firefox browser. I could type in textarea of Script editor when Oracle Express page launched with IE and netscape browsers.

Huhh..
Thanks for replies,

There are issues using Firefox:

- The script editor doesn't work, you have to revert to IE for that
- There are issues with creating SVG charts since Firefox 1.5 uses a native SVG engine for that purpose. You can turn it off using the url about:config and then set svg.enabled=false

Aside from that it works fine.

You can fix this if you replace the codearea.xbl.xml and codearea.iframe.html files in the
/i/editor folder with files from a newer Apex installation - such as the one on apex.oracle.com.

I should write up a HowTo for this when I get a chance.

In a nutshell...

1. Download codearea.xbl.xml and codearea.iframe.html from a server with Apex version 2.2 or later.
For example, from here:
http://apex.oracle.com/i/editor/codearea.xbl.xml
http://apex.oracle.com/i/editor/codearea.iframe.html

2. Put them in your /i/editor folder using one of the techniques shown here:
