The classic interface was easier to use than the Flash interface

The movie-like screen graphics is slow and annoying!

I can't get the link to a document and view it outside of "My Oracle Support"

The "My" in My Oracle Support sounds like the stupid names from ancient Microsoft. It sounds like my four-year-old's cuddly stuffed toys.
...Gee, Oracle, I wonder why they got rid of it? Could it be a gratuitous insult?

I pretty much avoid everything associated with Flash.

My Oracle Support simply requires too much bandwith, and is only usable on T1 lines and better.

Surprisingly sometimes there's no Flash installed on a computer => no My Support

We don't need special effects, special effects are for games. And we don't even need graphics, we just need functionality, intuitiveness and speed.

And, funnily, in MOS Sign In page we can read "My Oracle Support requires Adobe Flash Player 9." and then "If you can't or don't want to run Flash, sign in to the Classic (HTML) version."

AMEN!!!

Last line from that article:
"Just ask yourself this question: would the Web be where it is today if it had been created using Flash?"

The new MetaLink is unwieldy and too flashy. Too much detail and not enough information on a screen.

Beloved? Hardly. We don't want to go from a poor web site to something worse, that's all.

1. Our compny refuses to install flash plugins above v7 on standard issue desktops, I had to have a machine specially made and placed in the DMZ to access the damn thing from the office!
2. It's so damn slow even on a dual core 3.2 PC running the latest IE, it was "juddering" while rendering.
3. Bit of pig to find anything with all the drop-downs surrounding the search boxes, but that's just me being one of those oldies who first started using Metalink on dial-up!
4. The upload fails when trying to upload files to my TARs ( Yes, us old gits still call them TARs, not SRs! ), especially in Firefox under Ubuntu.

Most of all and simply because am I not 12 years old or in upper management and subsequently I not impressed by sliding windows and glossy borders. I am a geek techie, we like it simple, uncluttered, we like to get in, get sorted and get out as we have more important things to deal with, than admiring Oracle's PR and art depts latest attempts to "git dan wiv" the Web 2.0 crowd!
